Respect should be happening on both sides of the badge........

But even if a cop is being disrespected he/she should keep their cool and not overreact. That’s what they have been trained to do. That’s part of their job. If it comes down to legitimately and reasonably protecting themselves or protecting others, then force may be appropriate and necessary. Sometimes even lethal force. It’s a tough job, no doubt.
