FWIW JMU has already turned down the Sun Belt at least 1 time

in the last 5 years or so. Also, JMU has informally declined any interest in joining Conference USA when ODU was lobbying hard for them and WKU ended up with the spot. Why the sudden change of heart now when neither conference has any members in the 2 most important out-of-state regions (Mid-Atlantic and New England) for academic recruiting purposes?
