I understand the desire to push the baseball season back 1 month

for the northern schools. However, I would be curious to know what justification the NCAA can come up with to keeping the students on campus for an extra 1-2 months particularly if they are not taking any classes. Plus, what impact will it have on the various summer leagues (i.e. Valley League, Cape Cod League, etc.) which rely on college players to fill their rosters?
