Obviously, one never takes prescribed drugs if not under a doctor's care.

And just as obviously, a doctor, worth calling himself a doctor, would know this.

And as always, if a patient has a heart condition before hand, this wouldn't be the 1st go to medication. However, if a patient, even one with a heart condition, wasn't responding to a traditional approach, would probably want to at least try the hydroxycolorquine treatment. I would. If I were facing death from the disease, I'd try anything.

And hydroxycolorquine isn't an automatic death sentence for a patient with a heart condition. It can be fatal to some, but certainly not all.

As one doctor said, they are practicing battlefield medicine. They didn't have the time to wait for FDA approved clinical trials. They had to do what ever they could to save patients now, not in 6 to 12 months.

When everything quiets down, a number of proper clinical trials will be conducted to prove, or disprove, the advocacy of this treatment for Wuhan coronavirus.
