Of course there is no "evidence" that it helps.

In order to get an fda indication, they would have to do years of clinical trials. We obviously don't have time for that. There are reports of hydroxychloroquine helping some patients in Italy and here. It's a medication that's been around forever and we know the side effects and the safe dosing range. If I had a loved one with coronavirus I'd certainly be fine with them trying it. What else do we currently have?
