The problem is that has more to do with testing rates than infection rates


No-one knows how fast it is spreading, they only know how fast the number of positive test results are coming in. Obviously infection rates are increasing as testing rates increase... You see more stars the more you look up at the sky at night.

The question that should be being asked is what is the rate of growth of cases that require medical intervention. As long as that stays below the level of medical services available, the overall infection rate is irrelevant.
