One teacher introduced me/the class to a particular author

she probably has no idea what an effect that had on me, so not so much as a thank-you but just to let her know that.

I discussed this w/a very infrequent poster on the lounge last fall who was a teacher and kinda appreciated that even though he wasn't that teacher.
