In the Cold War they were trying to put reactors in everything


Always thought nuclear airplanes were a really wild idea, and one that never "took off" on account of the amount of shielding and protection needed for the air crew. I have to imagine that the reaction process has been improved to where there isn't nearly as much radiation as there was when the technology was in its infancy
