I've lived in 3 of the 4, so I'm the expert...

I like Blacksburg (where I am) best. I seriously pray every day I don't have to leave. Great weather, nice people, enough stuff to do. If there was a Trader Joe's it would be perfect. I am learning to live without shopping options, which is a good lesson to learn. I am not as tempted to buy stuff I don't need to begin with.

I learned to love Raleigh, and still have more friends there than anywhere (21 years will do that) but it is too hot and too much traffic. Liked being closer to the NC beaches. It is a good place to live if you can live near work. I made that work for about 18 months and then found a better job far away from my house.

Richmond is also too hot, less traffic. My family is still there so I get to experience it quite a bit and have places to drop off the kids if I want to do something without them. I think it would be a good place to live.

I miss concerts more than anything, but I actually didn't go that often after marriage and kids. I would like to think I would go see the Stones tonight, but I would likely be to tired after work, couldn't find someone to watch the kids, and my wife either wouldn't want to go or make me feel guilty for going without her or both.
