We know the existing Big XII deal is for 12 members.

It's not an ACC Fan myth. It's not a myth at all. When the Big XII looked at expanding in 2016 they were told by both ESPN and Fox that they are being currently paid for 12, and it they add 2 in 2016, they will receive exactly what they receive now. It doesn't have anything to do with what ACC fans think.

And yes ESPN and Fox could have challenged this in 2011 when the Big XII dropped from 12 to 8 and back to 10. They chose not to challenge it as long as the Big XII stayed at 10. If they had stayed at 8, it would have been challenged.

All of this extra packing will be gone in 2025. That will be rated for 10, unless the Big XII adds. And it looks like Fox is backing away from that entirely. Maybe not. It's years away. But the recent decisions by Fox preview their backing away.
