If you think about one thing very interesting about this business

A realtor sorta has to be in the same economic class as the seller of a home. Agree?

Think about it. You're selling a crack shack. You're might only get a lower end agent.... If you are Daddy Warbucks, and selling a $5M house, your realtor needs to have the same je ne sais quoi that your family has. This means, she/he probably needs to be a pretty damn successful agent(7 digit income).

It's interesting isn't it, because these high commissions give people a lifestyle that really matches the lifestyle of the homes they likely list. I just don't see the struggling newbie $50K a year realtor listing the $5M house. Don't see it at all.

So while the commissions might seem high, I would argue that maybe the world is very comfortable with it. Maybe it has resulted in a salesperson match that people like.

Just mentally meandering. I always like to think about the unintended consequences of changing things, cause something always bites you, or at least is a big surprise.
