I had similar reservations but went ahead and did it


I had pretty detailed knowledge of my family tree going back between 5 and 15 generations, depending on the branch. In that sense, it told me very little. I do have 5% Swedish/Norwegian that I was unaware of, but that was the only detail of note.

The main reason I did it was to be able to connect with distant cousins who I have been unable to locate through other methods. I am hoping to locate more family history details and photographs. I just did it at Christmas so I have not yet followed up on most of the suggestions. It did find my mother and several 2nd cousins and correctly identify them.
