I did it, along with my father and siblings. I grew up thinking Danish on


father's side and Irish on my mother's. Came back with Irish, but also quite a bit of English/Scottish. Not sure how I feel about that.

My father's side indicates more Swedish/Norwegian than Danish. That was interesting as we've had family in Denmark for quite a few generations.

The big surprise was myself and all 3 sisters came back between 15-18% Japanese. WTH?
My father's results had no Asian, so it must have come from my mother. She's now passed away and her only sister is deceased also. The sister had no children. My mother grew up in NY City and we were always told her father had been an orphan (1910ish) as a very young child, and her mother was Irish.

We have no idea about the Japanese. None of us look Asian. With that high percentage, we assume it must be a fairly recent ancestor. Looking at the history of NYC, Japanese were very limited in US and NYC prior to WWII.

Anyway, pretty fascinating.
