A few things...


I'm guessing the rec center track is 200m (or less) so it has tight turns. The turns could be what gave you the blister on the track, but no issue on the treadmill.

I run every day, and I recommend taping any areas (toes, heel, etc.) as soon as you get a "hot spot" (ideally before it turns into a blister). I just use regular athletic tape, but some people will use band-aids if they are strong enough.

Every time I get a new pair of shoes, I tape my usual areas before I use the shoes (I also cut out some of the padding in areas on the heels where I will develop blisters).
