is whether it wants OU and Texas to be in the same division or not. Right now the Big XII has 4 TX schools, 2 OK schools, 2 KS schools, 1 IA school, and 1 WV school. If the Big XII is only going to add 2 schools to get back to 12 members, then it could mean that Houston would be off the table due to the Big XII already has its 6 member South Division (4 TX schools and 2 OK schools). Otherwise, the Big XII would have to add Houston and another "South Division" member (i.e. Tulane, SMU, UTEP, etc) so it could place both OK schools in the North Division. At least I don't see the conference splitting the 2 OK schools between the divisions unless the Big XII decides to go with the zipper model.

Now if the Big XII is looking to become the Big XIV, then Houston would be on the table because the South Division would be the 5 TX schools and 2 OK schools. At least I don't think the Big XIV would place the 5 TX schools and 2 FL schools (example purposes only) in the South Division and place the 2 OK schools in the North Division.
