OK, got a delivery message from DHL for December 31st

Ummm, I'm going to be busy that day, the whole day. how 'bout Jan 2? (Jan 1 wasn't available) and I was able to reschedule delivery.

Just got a message a few minutes ago that it was out for delivery today. Uh, wait a minuted now, the reason I assume it was going to take another week was because it was on a tramp steamer crossing the Atlantic and now suddenly you're telling me it's here?

That's never happened before. Does that means the item was already in the area and the holdup was getting it on a truck routed to my area? (Presuming cheapest delivery class some sort of space available) Got lucky and it snagged the earlier weekly flight across the ocean?

That kinda bends my plans for the day but no prob.

PS Or simply their prediction algorithms were wrong that is a lot less commercial traffic? due to falling stock market, trade wars? Probably reading too much into this but those companies stock in trade these days is delivery algorithms.
