Home Depots are called Bricomarches..... They are much the same, but

A challenge when looking for specific things. I speak enough French to get along in everyday situations, but I really don't have the vocabulary to ask for a paint remover for a specific type of paint vs. paint thinner vs. strippers, etc.

Everything home improvement-related takes more effort (research, find the right words, know what you're asking for, and be able to interpret the often dizzying and rapid french artisan's (they call everyone who does anything in your home from flooring to roofing 'artisans') vehement flurry of words in the affirmative or the negative.

We have a wall on the first floor that I suspect is load bearing and I want it removed, so that will mean a beefy header beam or columns. SDHokie leaves the room when I start muttering about that wall.... I don't blame him.
