Once cat pee is on the floor, it's over.


They keep going back to the spot over and over and over again and nothing will persuade them not to. You have to rip up the carpet. Scrub the concrete or flooring underneath.And if it got into the wood tack strips, you have to replace those too.

The offending cat is now dead. So we redid all the carpet, did all the stuff i noted above, and i can still smell it if i put my face down to the carpet in the area she peed.It's like it stuck in the concrete itself now.

I have shoes that a cat peed in about 5 years ago that were really expensive. We cleaned and cleaned and i kept them around hoping that someday the smell would be gone. Still there, had to toss them.
