My mother's a Massie, raised in Massie's Mill.

She's godmother to one of the Saunders, although we're not close. My mother was a first cousin to Perkins Morton Flippin. We had a cabin on the North Fork of the Tye. My uncle still has land which abuts Pharsalia. You'll recognize many of the names in the Pharsalia article.

I grew up in Amherst and we went to St. Paul's Episcopal in Lynchburg. My parents still go there.
