My parents are from Nelson Co, in between Lynchburg and Charlottesville.

My father's home was saved by a boulder which split the waters as it rolled down the mountain. There was three feet of mud in their house. The high water mark was always over my head.

Their barn was destroyed. Before the sun rose the next day*, the Amish from PA were there to rebuild. I was a wee pup so I have no recollection of the actual events. The stories are unbelievable. I have a cousin named Camille.

* I don't believe it was actually the next day because the roads were impassable but it was very soon after the flooding.
