Yes, although if the ACC decides to expand to 16 or 20 members

then it would be interesting to see what they do with the 4 NC schools. Would they place them 1 group? Place 1 in each of the 4 groups? Place 2 in 2 groups? Keep in mind regardless if a conference expands to 16, 18, or 20, they would still be divided into 2 divisions of 8, 9, or 10 members. The same would hold true for the other power conferences.

If we are using the ACC for example and the ACC had 16 members, then the 2 divisions could look like this regardless whether the ACC uses the rotating pod method or not.

North
BC, Syracuse, Pitt, Notre Dame, Louisiville, WVU, UVA, and VT

South
Wake, Duke, UNC, NC State, Clemson, GT, FSU, and Miami

Yes, I know the North isn't as balanced and there are some rivalry issues (i.e. VT-Miami, UVA-UNC, etc) that would make this a "no go" in the current environment. Once the power conferences broke away to form their new whatever, the ACC-North or ACC-South would break away to form a new conference.

ACC-North = Remains the ACC (8 members)
ACC-South = Metro 2.0 Conference (8 members)

If the 8-10 conferences (depending on if there are 4 or 5 power conferences) pool their resources, then there should be no desire to expand to 10, 12, or 14 members because it would mean adding a member from the group they just separated from. The bylaws could be written so a conference of 8 or 10 members could be divided into 2 divisions of 4 or 5 in order to play a CCG. Another possibility is the CCG is eliminated in favor of adding an extra round to the Playoff.
