While the SEC in football & the ACC in basketball are about the rivalries!!


That's where the $$$$$$$$$$ is!!!!!

If CFB had the ability of the NFL we would simply make divisions of close rivalries. (The one exception is the Dallas Cowboys and I believe Texas and Notre Dame fit in that category) However, the rest are about fans interacting with each other on a regular basis because of the close proximity. Auburn/Alabama, Duke/UNC, Red Sox/Yankees etc.

My question is why is this so hard for University Presidents and network television to understand? It is right before their eyes. The SEC in football and the ACC in basketball prove it every year whether they win the National Championship or not (and they win it a lot), they always win the regular season and that's way more money than 1 or 2 games.
