She was a great player but . . .


there are very few former great players who make good HEAD coaches. There's also the issue of the lifestyle required. It's a 24/7/365 job if done right. Look around the country and find married women with young children in these jobs . . . . there aren't very many.

I think her experiences as an assistant were at Syracuse and Maryland prior to VT; hardly softball powers. I could see the possibility that she would stay on as pitching coach should the new coach asked her but head coach, no.
