We started with the chicken, but apparently our dog developed a poultry allergy. She had gotten incredibly itchy, flaky skin and we couldn't figure out what was causing it. Then she started vomiting after almost every meal and I suspected the food was making her ill. At first I feared the food was contaminated, but after speaking with our vet, I learned that poultry allergies are very common in canines. In fact, the vet told me that if you feed any dog the same protein for every meal its entire life, it's likely to eventually develop an allergy to that meat. So, it's best to cycle through various proteins to avoid allergies.
