It's not just ESPN. This is just the first sign of the bubble popping.


It isn't just ESPN, it is just the head of the monster.

The ripple effects will be tremendous. They overpaid for crap like the SEC, it fed the machine, and as a result, it will trickle down. It won't happen today, or tomorrow, but for the next 10 years, things will change. The outrageous money being paid to athletes (pro) and coaches (colleges), ticket prices, yada, yada, will all come down.

ESPN was just the first shoe to drop.

We saw the real estate/financial markets bubble burst in 2007, or so, and the dot.com bubble in the 2000-01 time frame.

Welcome to the sports bubble.
