I agree. I don't watch sports to engage in political discussion.


Other than a live sports broadcast, I haven't watched ESPN in probably 5 years. I got so sick of the human interest angles and, as you said, opinions about things other than sports, that I stopped watching. And yes, the on-air personalities who do not have sports backgrounds have way too many opinions about the game(s) they cover. I like the old school days when commentators just talked about what was unfolding before their eyes. And don't even get me started on ESPN's talking head shows....Their strategy of allowing/encouraging ridiculous opinions and staging controversy among personalities just to attract viewers had the exact opposite effect on me. Skip Bayless is like viewing kryptonite to me.
