This is a textbook example of the corrosive power of social hysteria.

The negative stuff about Uber happened quite a long time ago, relative to our current 24-hour news cycle milieu. But those few newsbits have been repeated so endlessly ever since they occurred that the impact makes it seem that Uber has exponentially multiplied its problems. Obvious somebody's got it in for Uber, but if you talk to drivers often enough, they are - to a person (m / f / old / young) very happy with Uber.
