I can answer this one question.
"I'm currently waiting for some parts to come in so I can put the driver's door interior panel back on. When I bought it, the panel was hanging loose and has finally fallen all the way off. Inspecting it revealed that out of about 10 door clips, 9 of them were crushed/broken beyond use. Honestly, I don't know what the kid was thinking/doing -- how do you destroy 90% of the door panel clips on a car? Goofball."
Window is down, and hanging back in the car to get something, the cell phone, jacket, hat, what ever, leaning over and putting pressure on the panel to do it. Do it enough, given age and temp, and POP goes the clip. Every car probably has 3 or 4 busted, but at some point, you hit the critical number.
I had an old Sebring convertible, and had that happen. Little different situation, mine was from people (kids, mostly) getting in and out with the top down, but those plastic clips just aren't meant to take that kind of abuse.
That's a lesson for everybody - open the door.
Sounds like you are doing a bang up job, though.
