ABSOLUTELY! That thing is probably due for it's 3rd timing chain.


Hoosband had a 1985 BMW 325e. They recommend changing timing chain at 65,000 miles if my recollection is correct. He didn't get there right at 65,000, and at 67,000 miles the chain blew. Cost us $7,000 for a new - re-built engine in 1990.

Drove that thing until 2000 though on the new engine.
