The issue of byes.


It would actually be interesting to give the committee control over the byes by allowing them to give them on merit. For example, only Alabama rates a bye this year, so allow 7 in. If two teams are unbeaten and rate a bye than take 6.

They'd never do this for multiple reasons, but it would be nice.

I'm cool with 8. (5 P5 champs, at least 1 G5 champ, 2 at-large). There is over 100 D1 teams, having 8 would hardly water down the regular season. Just think, if you aren't a champ, there is only two slots available.
