I used to live on the cape and my fondest memory there is flounder fishing with my father from the bridge over green pond (it's actually a bay) in East Falmouth.

There was a tackle shop and fish market called the green pond tackle and fish shop where everyone weighed in their catch and got a cup of their famous homemade chowder. I loved it during those cool early mornings. The chowder took the edge off the cold and allowed us to fish.

Well time has passed (now just over 30 years) and like everything the area has changed, the bridge was rebuilt so it's easier to fish from and fishermen are separated from traffic. The tackle and fish market sold it's property and it became a yacht club. The fish market moved into town and stopped selling tackle, but the market still makes its homemade chowder and it's a place I visit when I'm in the area on a cool day.

Funny how a cup of chowder brings me back to those days fishing with dad.
