Iowa State President Steven Leath does expect Big XII to expand.

He takes a question about it in this press conference. He expects the process to be wrapped up by Christmas. He's been spending more time on athletics than at any time in his career.

He has asked for input from all of the ISU coaches and athletic department. He's hearing the most feedback on BYU both for and against than about any other school.

He talks about Big XII expansion at the 25:35 minute mark. Not too much new here, but it is a more informed source than the Dude of WV.
