SLC no contest


I took a trip to SLC recently and loved it. If you like outdoor activities, you will be in heaven. Great hiking/mountain/river activites in the summer, great skiing in the winter. Summers are hot but it's the dry heat that is generally more preferable. Winters you will get snow, but it doesn't get brutal cold like the midwest. Lots of friendly folks. The city itself is very walkable/bikeable. There is a hipster/Morman yin/yang thing going on there where despite their differences, each side respects the other. Plenty of great breweries and a few distilleries.

The only major con I could think of is SLC is really the only major urban area within 5 hours so you might feel a little disconnected from the rest of the world at times ... maybe that's a good thing.
