The first couple of seasons, they dropped several Firefly references for the portion of the audience who was there just because they liked Nathan Fillion.

One scene involved a chase through a laundry facility staffed by Chinese. Beckett's badge waving gets them nowhere, but Castle is able to ask which way the perp went in Chinese. The following exchange referred back to Firefly and was kinda subtle, but I lost it.

I don't think the scene was ever meant to be THAT funny, but for some reason it was to me.
