You spray it on your clothes and let it dry. Then you can wear it out into the woods. I sprayed my clothes the day before a previous trip. It's advertised that it will continue to provide protection for 6 trips through the laundry.

I almost forgot, my bud basically drenched himself with Off (Deet), and although he didn't have any problems with mosquitos, ticks didn't seem to be repelled by Deet.
