Navy's impact in a post bundle subscriber model is potentially huge

I have no insider knowledge here but things do seem to be moving to an "over the top" model for cable subscription. If the ACC network is a regional network with an over the top option like HBO then Navy could potentially bring in a large number of subscribers for say 8 bucks a months to stream the network anywhere in the world. I'm not sure they would have a strong pull with enlisted sailors but they might.

Personally, I think the time is now to launch an over the top channel. I watched the NHL playoffs last night from my iPad through the NBCSports app. My directv subscription gives me access to the app so in essence I already pay a monthly fee for the app. ESPN could offer the network as a traditional cable channel in the ACC region and as an over the top network elsewhere. I could see that working.

I'm not sure where the price point is but I know I would pay up to 10.00 a month to watch every VT basketball game, soccer games, baseball etc. That adds up in a hurry folks.
