Well, for most very small companies, if you can do without someone for four


weeks, then you can do without them forever.

I work for a company with under 20 people. It's completely infeasible to offer 4 consecutive weeks of paid leave to anyone for any reason.

100 isn't a great dividing point because there's a world of difference between a 100-person company, a 50-person company, a 10-person company, and a 2-person company. The concerns of the 2-person company are patently unrelated to the concerns of the 100-person company except in the most general sense.

The larger you are, the more you can absorb the impact of "family friendly" policies and so forth.
