While having a highly ranked recruiting class is awesome, its not the beginning and end of the process. Some coaching staffs - like Tech's - have a reputation for taking recruits further and higher than their HS rankings may have suggested. That is definitely coaching 'em up as Dresser says. It also probably reveals smart recruiting: getting the guys with high upside who didn't quite get all the accolades in HS.

There are also coaching staffs who get highly coveted recruits, and then they barely develop. I have a few teams in mind, but no need to start bashing anyone else.
