Flo 2016 Recruiting Class Rankings
Willie Saylor posted his 2016 class rankings on May 4th. The link is below, although you may need a Flo account to read it.
Saylor explains that his rankings place a high emphasis on top 10 type guys because they are the ones who typically compete for top spots at NCAAs. He does note exceptions that his viewpoint does not account for - like a Nashon Garrett or, I would add, a Ty Walz. Guys who outperform their HS rankings by a wide margin.
He ranked VT #11 in 2015, but for 2016, Tech is not in his top 20 - merely listed as honorable mention. That could change obviously if Dresser gets a late pickup or two. I also think the team recruited deeply and well last year, and three of those grey shirts will be hitting the team this year, although they were considered part of last year's ranking.
Reenan pushed NC State to the #1 spot. The top ten are:
NC State
Penn State
Iowa
Lehigh
Nebraska
Purdue
Iowa State
Ohio State
Rutgers
Minnesota
Many commenters noted (and I would agree) that Penn State actually recruited the top talent, but Saylor ranked NC State higher because some of the highly ranked PSU recruits will join a line-up with other All Americans already sitting in their spots - so they may not add anything to the team's bottom line for a year or two.
Other ACC schools listed include Pitt at 11 and UVA at 15.
