I don't think it's ethically wrong. You're doing your friends a favor,


right? I'm assuming they need a job or will benefit by getting the job. As long as you're referring them because you believe they'll be a good fit and will actually benefit from the job, I'd say there's no ethical dilemma. If they're hired, they'll learn of that benefit and then can either shun you or start referring people themselves.
