I need a wifi range extender

my house is a one level rambler and I can't get wifi smart phone reception at one end of my house. I have a NETGEAR N600 Dual Band router.

Has anyone had good results with a particular model? I'm looking to keep my cost under $60. Also, I am on Comcast Cable right now but I am thinking about cord cutting and going with one of the set top devices for streaming tv. Would strengthening the wifi coverage in my house help with streaming?
