Dresser talked a little about this on Flowrestling (more)

Joey wrestles a lot of close matches without much offense which can lead to upsets. Said he has to score more points. More takedowns. As Jersey said, David from American was a horrendous match up for Joey, very active, super funky kid that he has wrestled a lot. He was on fire in this tournament. And then in his second match he gets Jeske from ODU who he has been wrestling going back to high school. Hard to beat guys who know your style if you don't score a lot points.

Joey is a great kid, a great wrestler who loves Virginia Tech. I hope he is off the crutches and back training again soon. Another point Jersey made earlier was that really need someone to push Joey in the room.

At the tournament level, it is as much mental as physical and will be something that Joey needs to figure out and break through. I am betting that he does.
