I think there is some truth to the East is weak arguement.

However I think it was best for the Caps to lose that game. It allows the coaches to hammer them in practices, etc. At times the Caps have been winning their games, while not playing hard for a full 60 minutes, just by their talent. They need to understand this won't cut it and they have a long way to go before they get to the finals, if they do.

Regarding Laich, he had to be cut to make room for Weber and stay under the salary cap. Sorry to see him go, but others were playing just as well as him and much cheaper salary wise.
