Very disappointed to see our pitching perform so poorly out of the gate but as you say, it is a long season. Also expected the hitting to be better, especially with runners on base. It appeared the defense got better as the weekend went on but maybe I am just trying to see a bright spot.

Hope the weekend provided Whitcomb an understanding on what she needs to work on to be a good pitcher at this level.

Hard to understand how schools from cold climates (Michigan and Minnesota, etc.) could have such good softball teams. Would think local player development would be hindered by the short summers in those places but maybe they get players from all over.
