Phone costs should always be judged by "life of the plan"- not the hardware

You can get an iphone 6s from ATT for $199.00 of you sign up for a 2 year service agreement. Or you can pay $750.00 for the phone and go month to month and save $15.00 per month. So you save $360.00 in monthly costs by going with the full cost phone... or you can add $199.00 and 360.00 and get...$559.00, but you are "saddled" to that hardware and carrier for 2 years. That is the way you should look at it- not the cost of the handset.
