Right...The question that needs to be asked is this...
Is football going to be the primary revenue driver for the next 30-40 years? If our leadership predicts the answer is yes, we strongly need to consider jumping ship. If they think this is more of a short term bubble, it probably is a better move to stay in the ACC.
ACC football and culture sucks. VT does not fit in culturally with most ACC schools. But for sports other than football, it's probably the best conference out there (outside of its leadership team). I would make an argument with your original statement though. While we may make more money on home football games in the SEC, the travel costs for other sports might eat away at that extra money fairly quickly.
