The problem with that is you have to have Texas buy-in. Otherwise
where is the 150-250 million dollar buy-out coming from? Texas loves the LHN and Baylor and the little dwarfs have no guaranteed home . Is OU willing to take Ken Starr(Would sue OU in millisecond)on and other schools with no home? It is a huge, huge hurdle to jump over.
Where will OU get that money from? Oil is dropping like a lead weight. OSU is an anchor around there neck also... It is not so easy to disband a conference when a schools survival(P-5) is on the line.
8 schools at minimum are needed to disband. Say you get those eight schools you will still likely get sued by the couple left behind. Too much risk for Presidents who avoid stuff like this. Do you think a president in our day and age(When a president will step down over a starvation protest at UM,) will take the risk to do all this? It just seems unlikely.
