With the regular season now over, I thought I would share an update on the amazing generosity of the TSL family.

Most of you will remember that before the softball season started, TWHokie pledged $10 per regular season VT win, $20 per ACC tournament win, and $30 per NCAA win, and challenged all Hokies to match some or part of the pledge. TW actually got into series sweeps, home runs, and all sorts of cool metrics.

We ended up with “official” pledges of $325 per win, which translates to $13,000 to the Softball program and an additional $7,500 from gelded turkey in matching dollars. We also had several folks who didn’t want to pledge – they simply elected to send one-time donations in for the softball program, which is great as well.

I am pleased to report that I have already delivered over $25,000 to Coach D’Amour for the Ten for the Win campaign! And the news gets even better!

A number of our pledges have not yet been paid, which is perfectly okay. Some folks are simply waiting until the complete end of the season, some are paying incrementally as the season goes along, and some have probably paid that I didn’t match the name on their check to their board name.

Regardless of specifics, I estimate that we have another $4,000 - $9,000 still outstanding, which should put us over $30,000 total.

Simply Amazing.
