People move to and move from the DC area all the time

some people who are here in the DC area stick around, some move on after a few years, its a mixed bag.

I'm in kind of a 'starter home' community and there's always turnover.
I've had neighbors sell & move 10 miles further out into the DC suburbs for a bigger home, I've also had neighbors sell & move to Florida for a bigger home. Another neighbor got divorced & when they cashed out the house one member of the former couple moved to upstate NY, the other moved closer into DC.

different goals for different people. one thing is consistent though, NOVA/DC/MD is generally a nice place to live and there are a ton of quality jobs here
