i got a $15k wire transfer that originated from the Bahamas and they called asking questions. i explained the income was reported, showed the spreadsheet i sent to the accountant and quickbooks records.

the revenue agent got to asking me a lot of questions about the client who sent the money this way and i didn’t really think it was any of their business. 😂

full body cavity search started….my accountant said “They think you were in on 9/11” 😂

audit lasted a year….at the end i got a letter saying, “we are accepting your 2007 return as filed”

no fines or nothing but tons of work

i am italian, we keep our mouths shut…never gave them any info about the payer
